Salt Drawing Lake draws a line across the vast salt skin of Lake Frome (an ephemeral salt lake) using a light aircraft.
The line is drawn by videoing the movement across the lake in a light aircraft, pointing directly down at the surface.
An approaching sand storm created fluctuations of the weather and air pressure which pushed the light aircraft around during the flight. This varied the distance between the aircraft and the surface of the lake, creating soft optical illusion through the spatial variations and linear drifting. The salt crystals on Lake Frome has a unique luminosity, which allows it to be viewed from outer space.
